One Nine Elms nominated for award

One Nine Elms, the new mixed-use development project set to open in 2019, has been shortlisted for the first ever Digital Construction Awards, specifically for ‘Project Innovation of the Year’ and ‘The Collaborative Built Environment’.

The building was nominated by BIM Plus, a publication supported by the Chartered Institute of Building, the largest membership body for construction management and leadership in the world. The Digital Construction Awards celebrate the most forward-thinking businesses, projects and individuals in the built environment.

Other nominees for ‘Project Innovation of the Year’ include:

  • Crane Camera project, Pix4D
  • Largest Underground Traverse for a Utility Survey, Murphy Surveys
  • New “ear” of Cognitive Homes and Smart Communities, Wienerberger
  • Sainsbury’s Digital Estate – supporting better decisions, Sainsbury’s &GroupBC

And, for the ‘The Collaborative Built Environment’, the following projects were nominated:

  • 1 New Street Square – Full Lifecyle BIM, Glider Technology Limited
  • Barnard Castle Aseptic Manufacturing Facility, BakerHicks
  • Delivering the Legacy, Allies and Morrison
  • One Nine Elms “Virtual Mock-up”, One Creative Environments Ltd
  • Urban Sciences Building, Bowmer & Kirkland

The building will include a hotel and residential units between Vauxhall Station and the upcoming Nine Elms station (opening 2020 with the Northern Line Extension), providing strong transport links to the rest of London. The building is on the site of the former Market Towers, and will include spas, restaurants and public spaces.

One Nine Elms is being developed by Wanda One – a subsidiary of UK development company Dalian Wanda and was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox – a New York based architectural firm.
