The Powerleague pitches in Nine Elms, that recently opened by New Covent Garden Market are already making headlines, winning the MyLocalPitch’s October ‘Outstanding Sports Venue Award’.
The venue boasts a range of innovative features including a rooftop location and a high-tech skills zone as well as standard 5-a-side and 7-a-side football pitches. With these football pitches, Covent Garden Market Authority and their development partners VINCI St. Modwen have provided the first new sports facilities in Nine Elms.
The facilities are unique in that they sit above the wholesale market’s new Recycling Centre and the high-tech skills zone, which is open to the public – would typically be found at professional football clubs. In addition, Powerleague Nine Elms offers free bookings on pitches for local schools and community groups and this week is hosting an event for BBC Children in Need.
The ‘Outstanding Sports Venue Award’, voted on by users is determined on the facilities’ quality, amenities and customer experience.
In an interview with Assistant Club Manager, Adam Severn commented: “On behalf of all the staff at Powerleague Nine Elms we are delighted to receive this award, as one of our main objectives is to deliver the highest standard of customer service. We strive to give our customers the best footballing experience they could possibly have.”
