Wandsworth Council is asking residents, businesses and people who use Queenstown Road to help shape its future.

A consultation is now open to hear suggestions and ideas on how to make it a safer, cleaner and greener road to travel along, starting with the section running up to Chelsea Bridge.

Transport improvements will help support the area as the Battersea and Nine Elms area grows. Funding for these measures would come from cash sums levied from developers to improve local infrastructure and public amenities.

Some ideas already being considered include:

  • Improving access for pedestrians and wheelchair users
  • introducing measures to make it easier and safer for pedestrians to cross the street
  • creating high quality, dedicated space for cycling
  • incorporating landscaping and tree planting to make better use of our valuable public spaces.
