Celebrate New Years Eve the true Italian way

Have you made big plans for New Years Eve or are you in for enjoying some real & delicious Italian cuisine alongside some hand-picked natural and organic wines in chic, yet cosy surroundings?

Born in the cool meatpacking district of Copenhagen in 2010, mother has since become a cult name amongst its fans and has established an unrivalled reputation by offering exceptional and approachable organic quality food imported directly from Italy or made from local organic products.

mother fully embodies the Danish notion of “hygge“ – a heartwarming and cosy feeling – and at our new 500m2 space home at London’s iconic Battersea Power Station, we will keep our rustic hygge going also on New Years Eve by simply cooking some good, no-nonsense, Italian comfort-food for all the Londoners.

Then check out the menu for the evening below – A menu that makes the perfect choice if you want to try some true classic dishes from the Italian kitchen created by our chefs using fresh, seasonal ingredients and typical local products from various regions of this very rich and diverse country.

ANTIPASTO: souté di cozze e vongole

Mussels and clams saluted with fresh tomatoes, parsley and garlic served with homemade bruschetta bread.

PRIMO: “Ravioli al ragu napoletano”

Homemade Ravioli pasta filled with ricotta cheese and served with a typical Neapolitan meat ragù

SECONDO: “Anatra in agrodolce “

Braised duck legs in Sicilian sweet and sour style served with mashed potatoes

DESSERT: Ris a l’amande

Rice pudding with vanilla, almonds and whipped cream, and it is typically served together with warm cherry sauce.

Probably the most famous and traditional Danish Christmas dessert.

Moreover there will be a plate of Gnocchetti fritti – deep-fried gnocchi with a bit of paprika as a welcome-dish alongside a nice glass of sparkling, organic prosecco.

While at midnight, you get to try another classic Italian dish, Cotechino con lenticchie – hand made pork sausages with braised lentils, that tradition true is served on the last day of the year to bring abundance and fortune.
