Philip is the owner/director of COUNTER, Vauxhall’s all-day bar and brasserie.  Inspiration for COUNTER came from New York’s edgy Meatpacking District, especially its pioneering restaurants.

“There are obvious similarities to Vauxhall: an industrial legacy, a vibrant gay scene, central location and a rapidly changing skyline. Merging this part of Manhattan with London seemed a natural concept for Vauxhall. Opening in a 200ft long arch under Vauxhall Station provided us with an authentic space in the heart of one of London’s best transport interchanges.

“Since launching in February 2015, we are delighted to be doing business here and to have had the opportunity to become an ingrained part of Vauxhall and Nine Elms’ evolving communities from the get-go.”
