Exclusively for people who live, work or go to school in the area, the Nine Elms Community Theatre Club is offering £1 tickets for selected performances of great new shows at Battersea Arts Centre.

As well as getting to see the show, you’ll enjoy exclusive opportunities such as the chance to meet the people who work behind the scenes and occasionally even complimentary refreshments!

Whether you come alone, or with friends and family, we hope you will also enjoy the chance to meet other Nine Elms residents who have come to watch the same show. Some shows also offer free shuttle bus journeys to and from the venue.

Werk in Progress by Mawaan Rizwan

Tuesday 5 May at 7.30pm (age guidance 14+). Duration 60 mins.

Edinburgh sell-out: Mawaan Rizwan

Mawaan (BBC3/Netflix) has just finished touring with Jonathan Van Ness. After a sell-out Edinburgh fringe in 2019, he’s back to shape a new bonkers show to go on tour!

Previous praise for Mawaan Rizwan:
★★★★ “His combination of confessional comedy and skilful physicality mark him out as a definite name to watch” – Evening Standard
★★★★ “One to watch” – The Times

Find out more about Mawaan Rizwan’s show on the BAC website.

Book tickets by 28 April:
• Call 020 7223 2223
• Or buy in person at Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill, SW11 5TN.

If you’re going to see Mawaan Rizwan, make your own way to the venue or book your place on a free shuttle bus, which offers a return journey from the Yvonne Carr Centre thanks to the Wandsworth Community Transport service. The shuttle bus will leave the Yvonne Carr Centre at 6.30pm prompt.

If you’re making your own way to the venue, please arrive at 6.50pm to socialise with other Theatre Club members and enjoy your free drink (non-alcoholic option available).

How to book your tickets

Choose which show you would like to see then book your tickets direct over the phone or in person at the venue. Make sure you quote NINEELMS to secure your discounted tickets.

Note: The discount code is only valid for the shows above at the specified dates and times. Please do not ask the box office for discounted tickets to other performances. The discount cannot be applied retrospectively to tickets you have already booked. Tickets are non-refundable.

Book a lift!

If you’re coming to see Mawaan Rizwan, there is a free shuttle bus running but you must book your place one week before the show.

Tickets and shuttle bus places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If you book a seat and then no longer need it, please do let the box office know as early as possible so that someone else can be given the opportunity.

The shuttle bus leaves Yvonne Carr Centre one hour before the scheduled start time of the show. For example, if you are attending a show starting at 7.30pm, the bus will depart Yvonne Carr Centre at 6.30pm prompt. Don’t miss the bus! Please arrive at Yvonne Carr Centre at least 5 mins before the bus is due to depart.

To get back to Nine Elms, the bus will depart 10 mins after the show has finished and return to Yvonne Carr Centre.

Making your own way to and from the venue

If you prefer to make your own way to and from the venue, please aim to meet in the theatre foyer 40 mins before the show is scheduled to start. For example, if you are attending a show starting at 7.30pm, please meet at the venue at 6.50pm. This will mean that you can make the most of the social aspect of the club and not miss out on any bonus treats that have been arranged for the group!

Accessibility

If you or anyone in your group requires wheelchair access, please specify at the time of booking. The shuttle bus is wheelchair accessible. Please make sure you let the box office know if you, or the person you are booking for, prefer to transfer into a vehicle or theatre seat or prefer to use own wheelchair.

How to collect your tickets

On arrival, please collect your tickets from the venue box office. The box office will need your last name and they may ask you to confirm your address or provide ID. The box office will then direct you to where to meet the Nine Elms theatre club group so you can socialise together before the show.
