This winter, buildings and windows will light up across Nine Elms to brighten up the dark evenings.
There’s something on every day, so pull on a coat and explore the area with a warming drink or something to eat on the way!
Light Up Nine Elms – 13 to 21 December, 5pm-9pm
Buildings at nine sites around Nine Elms will provide the backdrop for artist Jony Easterby’s animated projections of elm trees – based on illustrations of the nine elm trees living along Nine Elms Lane. Sign up for a guided walk or discover the beautiful installations while walking through the area.
Nine Elms Advent Calendar 2019 – 1 December to 5 January
Join in the celebrations as a different ‘window’ is unveiled each night in this giant advent calendar of art, organised by the Nine Elms Arts Ministry and supported by Wandsworth Council. Watch out for special events and free guided walks – the trail of windows can be seen until 5 January.
The Cat in the Hat – 11 December to 11 January
Day-time performances bring family-friendly entertainment to The Turbine Theatre at Battersea Power Station. Suitable for ages 3+, booking is now open.
ROSE Christmas Party – 18 December, 5pm-8.30pm
Local residents are invited to join the annual celebration with Father Christmas and members of the Battersea Power Station Choir.
River Walk Christmas Market – Fri-Sun until 22 December
Stock up on festive goodies and crafts from a variety of stalls in Battersea Power Station’s piazza – don’t miss artisan panettone, seasonal cheeses and spiced cider.
Battersea Power Station Winter Village – Thu-Sun until 24 December
Have a go at curling or ice-skating on the banks of the Thames as the historic Coaling Jetty is turned into a winter village complete with festoon lighting, alpine huts and food and drink pop-ups. Open Thursdays to Sundays, check Battersea Power Station website for opening times.
