If you live in Wandsworth and would like a creative career in advertising, the School of Communication Arts has a few remaining scholarships left for its online qualification in creative advertising starting this September.

The nine places funded by Stride London are available for Wandsworth and Lewisham residents – and you don’t need any formal qualifications or prior creative industry experience to be selected. Successful applicants will also be supplied with a laptop before they start their 10-month online course.

Stride, a talent development programme, is responsible for funding the scholarships and is a partnership of Wandsworth and Lambeth councils with Lewisham and Southwark. Its purpose is to create opportunity, develop talent and support creative and tech enterprises across south London.

Marc Lewis, Dean of the School of Communication Arts, said: “Not only will scholarship recipients gain the tried-and-tested benefits of our course, but they’ll also collect enough pearls of wisdom to fill an oyster farm from our faculty members and our network of over 1,000 industry professionals, all of whom have something unique to contribute to this organic form of creative education.”

The success rate of SCA alumni is high as over 80% go on to work for a top agency upon completion of the course. The £7,500 course fees will be paid for by Stride.

Based in Pop Brixton, the School of Communication Arts (SCA) is the most awarded ad school in the world. Founded in 2009, the SCA was created with the intention of seeking out and nurturing the best and brightest creative talents, encouraging them to become the next generation of advertising and marketing superstars.

The SCA provides a portfolio and placement-based education suited to people interested in a career in copywriting, creative direction, or similar positions within communications and advertising.

Scholarships are open to all ages. Apply before Tuesday 31 August 2021 to join the 10-month online course. For more details and how to apply visit the School of Communication Arts website.
