New hotel coming to Nine Elms in 2022

A new hotel being built in Nine Elms will bring further construction and hospitality jobs to the area, as well as international visitors once it opens.

Hyatt have confirmed a 203-room luxury hotel will open in 2022 within R&F UK’s development located near to the River Thames and the US Embassy.

Leader of Wandsworth Council, Councillor Ravi Govindia said: “It’s fantastic to hear this positive news of a high-profile development taking shape in Nine Elms. We look forward to working with Hyatt to support their recruitment plans and secure new job opportunities across a range of sectors for local people.

“It is a vote of confidence in these troubled times to see Nine Elms developments continuing to push forward and attracting high-quality international investment. Over the coming years we’ll be delighted to welcome growing numbers of visitors to this riverfront district of Wandsworth with the opening of two new Northern Line Tube stations, new shops, cultural venues and restaurants.”

Since 2018, Wandsworth Council’s Work Match jobs brokerage has so far secured 47 job placements and 5 apprentices working on the construction of buildings at the One Nine Elms and One Thames City development sites.

Riverside shops, restaurants and hotel

The new Park Hyatt London River Thames will be part of a new series of developments by R&F UK, consisting of 18 buildings which will include 2,300 apartments, more than 120,000sq ft of commercial space and numerous shops and restaurants. The hotel will also have a large ballroom.

The developments by R&F UK include One Thames City, an exclusive new riverside development comprising of premium residences, hotels, shops, park and restaurants, developed in conjunction with CC Land. Construction of the Nine Elms development is well under way and the schemes are expected to take shape over the next two years.

R&F UK has assembled a world-leading design team for the development and new hotel, including Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) and Allies and Morrison, with landscape architects, Gillespies, leading on the Linear Park, and Super-potato curating interior design within the development.
