Vauxhall Village has announced the screening of two free films at Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens.

The movies will be accompanied by delicious food from local cafés and restaurants and a great bar courtesy of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Everyone is welcome to bring picnics and – if you make it early enough – to grab one of the brand new VauxhallVillage deckchairs.

VauxhallVillage is the events arm of local business group Vauxhall One. One of their key aims is to return the PleasureGardens to their former fame and glory as the epicentre of alfresco London entertainment.

Films and screening times:

  • Thursday 23 May, 8.30pm– Mamma Mia – a modern rom-com featuring songs by ABBA
  • Thursday 13 June, 8.30pm – Searching For Sugar Man – an Oscar winning documentary about a ‘lost’ American musician

The pop-up cinema is provided by Luna Cinema.

Vauxhall’s eating and drinking venues will be staying open late and restaurants will be providing special pre-film offers for those holding a Vauxhall Village Perk discount card.

The Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens are just two minutes walk from Vauxhall Rail and Tube stations, with a main entrance on Kennington Lane SE11 5HY. Guests are invited to get a good spot in the park from 6 pm when food and music will begin.
