The 93 bedroom Staybridge Suites hotel will form a part of the £80m mixed-use Spring Mews development in Vauxhall.

The franchise agreement will run for 15 years.

400 student rooms will also feature at the development. Work on them is currently underway and will be completed by the end of next year.

Sten Mortstedt, executive chairman of CLS Holdings said: “InterContinental Hotels Group is one of the top hotel companies in the world and its Staybridge Suites brand perfectly meets our aspirations for a hotel in this area.”

Councillor Lib Peck, Co-Chair of the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership and Leader of Lambeth Council, said: “This is very welcome news and should help contribute to the creation of more than 100 new jobs that we expect Spring Mews development will bring.

“The agreement for the new hotel will also benefit the borough by attracting new visitors and boosting local trade once complete in around September next year.”

CLS Holdings are also behind the Vauxhall Square development designed by Allies and Morrison, which will form a truly mixed-use, commercial and community hub bringing much needed leisure and retail facilities to Vauxhall.  Vauxhall is the existing town centre for Nine Elms on the South Bank; our second town centre is being created at Battersea Power Station.
