Last week we brought you the news regarding an exciting new restaurant opening at Embassy Gardens. The influx of new cuisine is set to continue with the opening of POTUS at the Crowne Plaza on Albert Embankment.
Led by chef Pablo Peñalosa Najera, POTUS, is perhaps unsurprisingly centred around American cuisine and will bring a variety of flavours and tastes, which Najera has accumulated working across three continents. His experience in Spain, Colombia and his native Mexico have contributed to a diverse palette and is reflected in the menu’s depth with themed dishes planned around the US Presidents.
In an interview with the London Eater, Pablo shared his excitement about the POTUS concept noting that “It’s a great opportunity. London is full of great ingredients, that can help me to diversify. It’s American, but I’m going to try and bring a lot of classics and flavours. [With our] cioppino (a traditional San Franciscan fish stew by way of Italian immigrants), I want to transport my guests to Fisherman’s Wharf. Enjoying food as a kid. It’s very personal.” What’s more, the restaurant will be working with “honest and quality suppliers in the capital.”
The menu is set to include a New England clam Chowder, the aforementioned San Franciscan fish stew and a selection of dry-aged steaks with the delectable POTUS rub.
Opening on the 31st of October of this year POTUS is another welcome addition to the burgeoning restaurant scene in Nine Elms.
