This August (Monday 13th to Sunday 19th), Cottons Restaurants and Rum Shacks in London’s Camden, Notting Hill, Shoreditch and Vauxhall will pay homage to the world’s finest spirit with a week of specialist rum activity including limited-edition rum menus; rum flights, free rum masterclasses* and more.
Two very special rum masterclasses will take place during Cottons Rum Week. Two starring rums RedLeg rum and Jamaica’s famous overproof Wray & Nephew rum will be dropping in treat select guests to complimentary cocktails, a history of their brands and tasting of the range.
Places will be FREE but rum-loving hopefuls will need to sign up to the Cottons Club mailers* to hear how and when to apply.
Diners are encouraged to pre-book a table at Cottons Notting Hill and Shoreditch for a chance to sample limited-edition rum menus throughout rum week. Head chefs Marlon Edward and Mark Jackman have been busy in the kitchen experimenting with Trinidad’s Angostura rum to create 3-course rum-laced with dishes such as oven-baked sea bass served with cassava wedges with Angostura coconut rum sauce. Menus are £30 per person and include an Angostura cocktail on arrival.
New to Cottons – a rum flight will launch in all sites – offering rum lovers the opportunity to sip their way across the Caribbean, trying premium rums including Appleton reserve blend from Jamaica; Matusalem 15 from Dominican Republic; Angostura 1919 from Trinidad; and Barbados’s Plantation 5. The rum flights will be available at all Cottons from 13th August for £20 per person. Sip the rums straight up or pair with your favourite mixer.
A menu of Wray & Nephew cocktails will be on offer at all Cottons featuring Wray & Ting; Cottons Rum Punch and a special Cottons creation all on offer during Cottons Rum Week; and look out for Wray’s Nephew & Nieces – popping up at Cottons Vauxhall for some interactive rum games and sampling on the riverside terrace on Tuesday 14th August.
