Battersea Park is one of Wandsworth’s premier sports facilities with an eight lane running track catering for a full range of track and field sports, a fitness centre, 19 floodlit tennis courts and two multi-purpose all-weather pitches.

One pitch was upgraded two years ago, and the most recent work means the site now has two state-of-the-art artificial pitches suitable for hockey, football and tennis. Alongside the Powerleague pitches at New Covent Garden Market and the sports court on the Savona Estate (refurbished by Careys Civil Engineering in partnership with Battersea Power Station), the area now offers a range of facilities that are very exciting.

The Millenium Arena is managed on behalf of Wandsworth Council by Enable Leisure and Culture.

The council’s spokesman for community services and open spaces, Cllr Steffi Sutters, said:

“These Millennium Arena pitches are heavily used by tennis players in the summer and five-a-side in the winter and are a vital facility for local schools.

“This court was looking rather tired, but now it has a specialist sports surface able to cope with the high level of demand. It will be available for all the community to use all year round for years to come.”
