Winter Trails is a festival of events and activities in Nine Elms taking place between 18 November and 21 December 2017.
Winter Trails embraces the festive season, bringing illumination to dark paths and going off the map to explore the area from St George’s Tower to Battersea Power Station. It invites the unique perspectives of artists and performers, often working in partnership with local residents and communities, to allow both to discover the area afresh, alongside visitors from other parts of the city.
In order to navigate the programme, a new map of the area is layered with the different strands of the festival – movement, sound, words & stories, film, illumination & installations – as different lenses through which the neighbourhood can be explored and new routes inspired.
Winter Trails departs from conventional forms of mapping, to create a series of dynamic encounters with place to get under the skin of the changing area of Nine Elms.
All activities are free to attend, but in some cases advance booking may be required. Events can be pre-booked via the website. All children under 16 must be accompanied at all times.
