£20 - £35
On Saturday 24th February Cottons St Georges Wharf, Vauxhall is turning up the heat on the riverside with a Winter Beach Party featuring Caribbean food*, steel pans, live reggae, and DJs into the early hours.
Kicking off from 6pm, beach revellers will be treated to endless classic Cottons dishes such as jerk pork ribs with rum & molasses; Cotton’s mac & cheese; and sweet potato fritters with coriander coconut chutney, as well as a whole hour of unlimited rum punch on arrival.
There’s nothing like the sound of steel pans to invoke a bit of sunshine on a winter’s day – Steel Pan in Motion will treat the crowd to some laid back calypso sounds before a live reggae band takes over for the crowd to get their groove on, followed by DJs playing a mix of tropical tracks, reggae and dancehall until sunrise (well almost).
When the punch bowl runs dry, guests can head to the bar and choose from 350 different types of rum and in-house created cocktails such as Sorrell Sling – beefeater gin, homemade sorrel squash, fresh lemon, crème de cassis and soda water; and Killer Doppi (this potent mix is said to turn the living into a Doppi – Jamaican for ghost – made from four different rums, apricot liqueur, curacao, orange, pineapple and lime juice).
Those ready to help cultivate the summer island vibes by dressing their beach best (think Hawaiian shirts and colourful attire), will be gifted a rainbow flower garland and Cottons branded sunglasses on arrival.
Tickets cost £20 per person for unlimited Caribbean food or £35 to include one hour of unlimited rum punch. Pre-booking essential (link below).
*Free flower garlands and Cottons sunglasses for anyone wearing a Hawaiian shirt or beach attire.
