This event celebrates the newly published and acclaimed memoir Plot 29.

Plot 29 describes Allan Jenkins’ childhood, who, with his brother Christopher, was rescued from their care home and fostered by an elderly couple with whom he began to garden. This book tells how he began to dig deep into his past, seeking to learn more about his absent parents. The book fuses this search for understanding with his continued love of gardening, which began when he grew nasturtiums from seed as a boy.

On this night Allan Jenkins will be joined by Howard Sooley, the photographer, with whom he shares Plot 29, an allotment in Hampstead, and who will select his favourite images for this unique evening.

This fascinating and intimate evening will be followed by a signing of Jenkins’ book.

The Garden Café
