Nine Elms Advent Calendar Trail 2020

Following the success of last year’s Giant Advent Calendar, Nine Elms Arts Ministry are once again showcasing the Nine Elms community and local artists by creating a trail of beautiful windows and installations. The theme this year is ‘Light in Darkness’.

From 1 to 24 December, we’ll reveal a new window online each day along with festive activities you can take part in. We are also inviting residents to decorate their own windows around the same theme to join in the fun!

This fun-filled event is safe and for everyone to explore in their households or support bubbles. The event will run from Tuesday 1 December 2020 to Saturday 2 January 2021.

Keep up to date with the latest calendar news on Instagram and Facebook @nineelmsartsministry or visit the Nine Elms Arts Ministry website to sign up for updates, view the map or to get some inspiration for decorating your own window.

As the world has changed this year, our event has had to change too. We’re focusing on the advent trail of lights in line with current coronavirus restrictions. To give you a taste of last year’s festivities, here are the highlights from 2019 in the video below. Please note, there will not be any in-person events.

The Advent Calendar project is supported by the Diocese of Southwark, Battersea Power Station Foundation and other local sponsors, in partnership with Wandsworth Council’s Nine Elms team.

The calendar is co-ordinated by Nine Elms Arts Ministry, an emerging community exploring the arts, spirituality and social justice in the heart of the Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms development and a project of the Anglican Diocese of Southwark. Contact for more information.
