Following the success of last year’s Giant Advent Calendar, Nine Elms Arts Ministry are once again showcasing the Nine Elms community and local artists by creating a walking trail of beautiful windows and installations. The theme this year is ‘Light in Darkness’.
From 1 to 24 December, a new window will be revealed online each day showcasing advent calendar windows at local schools, offices, community centres and cafes. Nine Elms Arts Ministry are also inviting residents to take part in festive activities and decorate their own windows around the same theme to join in the fun!

This fun-filled event is safe and for everyone to explore in their households or support bubbles. The event will run from Tuesday 1 December 2020 to Saturday 2 January 2021.
Download the Nine Elms Advent Calendar e-flyer for more information about the walking trails and how to take part.
As the world has changed this year, the event has had to change too and there will not be any in-person launch events.
The focus will be on the advent walking trail of lights in line with current coronavirus restrictions. To give you a taste of last year’s festivities, look back at the highlights from 2019 in the video below.

The Advent Calendar project is supported by the Diocese of Southwark, Battersea Power Station Foundation and other local sponsors, in partnership with Wandsworth Council’s Nine Elms team.
The calendar is co-ordinated by Nine Elms Arts Ministry, an emerging community exploring the arts, spirituality and social justice in the heart of the Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms development and a project of the Anglican Diocese of Southwark.
