The much anticipated Newport Street Gallery opens with ‘Power Stations’, a solo show of work by John Hoyland (1934–2011) as its inaugural exhibition.
Newport Street Gallery opens in Vauxhall on 8th October 2015 and will feature exhibitions of work from Damien Hirst’s personal art collection. Entry to the gallery will be free.
The gallery’s inaugural exhibition will be ‘Power Stations’, a solo show of work by John Hoyland (1934–2011), considered one of Britain’s leading abstract painters. The first large-scale exhibition of Hoyland’s work to be shown since the artist’s death in 2011, ‘Power Stations’ will include paintings dating from 1964 to 1982. Presented across all six of Newport Street’s galleries, the exhibition will be on display from 8th October 2015 until 3rd April 2016.
