Artist James Capper’s large-scale mobile sculpture MUDSKIPPER is now in Battersea until 31 July.
Formerly a Thames workboat, the sculpture has the ability to navigate its way across water and land, using a set of hydraulic jacks.
Starting at Battersea Power Station, the sculpture will travel up the River Thames and demonstrate its amphibious abilities on the foreshore by Battersea Park’s Chelsea Bridge car park.
In between demonstrations, you can spot MUDSKIPPER moored by Battersea Power Station on the Uber Boat by Thames Clippers pier.
The Battersea demonstration dates and times:
The Battersea demonstrations will take place on the foreshore near Chelsea Bridge car park and last approximately 45 minutes. Once complete, MUDSKIPPER will stay on the foreshore for people to view until the tide picks her back up.
From 1 August it will head east to Royal Docks for demonstrations and display in the Royal Victoria Dock before travelling back to Battersea Power Station where it will be exhibited outside the iconic Grade II* listed building from September.
