Artist and silversmith Miriam Hanid is best known for her sculptural chased and repoussé chased vessels and centrepieces, some of which feature fine hand engraving. Her silver designs include practical and purely decorative pieces from vases, dishes and boxes through to spectacular statement pieces. In this talk she shares insights into the commissioning process focusing on current bespoke projects including a bowl, tumbler and cuff. A short demo will highlight some of the techniques used and time allowing, participants will have an opportunity to learn and test their planishing skills.
The demonstration will take place on Saturday 12 May 2018 with sessions at 11am, 2pm and 4pm. Each session lasts for 30 minutes.
