A guided walk of the Thames riverfront, led by Churchman Landscape Architects who together with Studio Weave, have been commissioned to improve a 2km stretch of Thames River Path through Nine Elms on the South Bank.
They are creating a series of spaces and pocket parks which will embrace meanwhile, temporary and permanent landscape installations, working around the theme of the “Nine Realms”.
This references the historic, social and cultural threads of the area: whether it is the horticultural influences of the Huguenots and the Battersea Bundles, the working wharves, the former railway goods yards, the nine elm trees that gave the area its name, New Covent Garden Market or the upcoming cultural influences generated by the new arrivals.
The walk lasts 1.5 hours.
