Pump House Gallery is presenting Labour’s Own Sounding Ideal, an ongoing research project by artist Anneke Kampman, investigating the social and artistic functions of the music video and its modes of production.
Across the exhibition, works will cover the historical development of the music video, from the birth of MTV in 1981 to present day channels such as YouTube.
The exhibition will feature a web-based archive of music videos and an integral video work, which attempts to critique the music video form.
Labour’s Own Sounding Ideal will be accompanied by a programme of performances, family activities and public workshops.
