Alongside the exhibition Labour’s Own Sounding Ideal, an on-going research project by Anneke Kampman, Pump House Gallery is working with artist and illustrator Amy Pennington to transform the Project Space into an ‘editing suite’, as we investigate how popular culture shapes and recycles stereotypes.
Free family workshop ‘Cover image’
10 February 2019, 12 – 4pm
Drop in to this workshop to work with artist Amy Pennington to create a band name, album title, track list and make a 12-inch vinyl cover. Your music can be a mix of all genres, or genres that have never even existed before.
This free workshop has been designed and delivered by artist Amy Pennington, as part of the InHouse Project: Mis-Shapes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Free family workshop ‘Mis-shapes, mistakes, misfits’
24 February 2019, 12 – 4pm
Drop in for this experimental session with green screen and stop motion animation to unpick the stereotypical images and narratives that surround us. Join artist Amy Pennington to experiment with a variety of images created by visitors over the course of the exhibition.

Visitors are welcome to drop in to the gallery’s Project Space at any time during exhibition hours. Additionally, families are welcome to come and take part in free workshops on Sunday 27 January, 10 and 24 February, 10 and 24 March, 12 – 4pm.
