Having run workshops across the globe for over 10 years, Tilayo Workshops offer foiling, screen printing, embroidery and more. In celebration of Happy Streets festival, bring out your inner designer and learn to upcycle your clothes, through the technique of foiling, fabric painting or appliqué. Select the technique of your choice or take our quiz to discover your method for the day. Bring an item of your clothing, such as a t-shirt, that you will like to work on. Materials will also be provided on the day if you’d like to take part in the workshop.
Tilayo is a multi-disciplinary design studio that collaborates with artisans across the globe to create meaningful products and projects. The studio is led by the exploration of craft and how design can allow us to interact more positively with the world and each other. Tilayo’s work has featured in exhibitions and publications worldwide from British Vogue to The Wallace Collection.
The workshop is open to ages 9 years plus, adult supervision is required.
Get involved in this workshop with BAC Beatbox Academy. It is a place where anyone can come and create sounds and performance regardless of experience. It started in 2008 and the group is run by artist, musician and theatre maker Conrad Murray. They love to perform covers and create original material and sounds.
This workshop will be suitable for children of all ages, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Yoga with Stephanie Veillas
Enjoy taster yoga classes during the Happy Streets Festival for all the family. Classes will be fun, perfect for beginners and packed with gentle movement, soft breathing techniques and mindfulness.
Stephanie is a yoga teacher with many years of experience and is fascinated by the transformative powers of yoga.
The classes are open to all ages for the whole family to enjoy. Mats will be provided but bring your own if you prefer. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move about in.
The Pizza Midwife
The Pizza Midwife offers all the components for you to make your own pizza*: a ball of hand-made dough, a rolling pin to make it the shape and thickness you want, tomato passata, a range of vegetable toppings, and finally lashings of cheese. Your creation will then make its way into the wood fired pizza oven before being returned to you in a sizzling, crisp and delicious state for you to take away and eat.
The pizza making workshop is open to all ages.
*To ensure COVID compliance, each participant will be issued with a small bowl and spoon to hold their chosen ingredients during the pizza making.
