Free classes this autumn to try new skills, arts or socialise

Organised for the local community by Wandsworth Council, all classes run for 10 weeks from the last week in September to the end of the first week in December. You can come along to a session any week, don’t worry if you didn’t join at the start.

All classes are free, so please book in advance to guarantee your place. Do let us know if you are unable to make it so that we can offer your place to someone else instead!

Social dance classes

Tuesdays 7pm-8pm, at the Yvonne Carr Centre, Thessaly Road, SW8

Get in step with beginners’ Salsa classes for residents aged over 18. All fitness levels welcome!

Walk and talk

Fridays 11am – 12noon, various outdoor locations

Join a friendly group for a gentle guided walk of the area, each week exploring a different theme and a different route.

• 9 December – last walk for 2022:
  The walk will start at Nine Elms Tube station and finish at Battersea Power Station Tube station. The walk will pass various developments along Wandsworth Road towards Vauxhall, as well as St George Wharf, Riverside Gardens and the US Embassy.

Outdoor arts for families

Saturdays 10.30am-11.30am, ROSE community clubroom, Ascalon St, SW8

10 weeks from 26 September to 5 December, with a break for half term.

Designed for children aged 3-8 years old, this arts class develops crafts and art at low, or no, cost.

The classes can take up to 10 families, maximum two children per family.
