Celebrate the colourful redesign of Thessaly Road rail bridge underpass at a free festival on 13 July for the whole family.

Join in with arts, dance, music and circus activities, and enjoy live music and performances spread out around Thessaly Road and Ascalon Street from 12noon to 6pm.

Inspired by artist Yinka Ilori’s exploration of the theme of happiness in the bridge redesign, the Happy Streets festival is packed with opportunities to try out new activities.

Have a go at hula-hooping, pizza-making or beatboxing, and learn more about trees, nature and gardening.

Follow giant puppet Gnomus around the neighbourhood, take to the streets with World Heart Beat’s marching band and be amazed by the skills of circus artists.

From piñata-making to clambering through a cardboard city, there’s plenty to keep the children busy.
