Charlotte Despard birthday event taking place outside the US Embassy on Ponton Road at 6pm.

This was the site of Despard House which was bequeathed to Battersea Council in 1922. At the event:

• Be part of the ‘Je suis  Charlotte’ group photo, wearing Votes for Women sashes by adopting her raised fist iconic pose
• Hear Hilaire read her poem ‘ What has Mrs Despard ever done for us?’
• Check out the Charlotte head cake by artist Phillippa Egerton which we will not be eaten until the EqualiTea on the 23rd June 3-5 hosted by Wandsworth Radio.
