British Flowers Week

British flowers are taking the spotlight this June as British Flowers Week returns for its fifth year. 19-25 June will be devoted to raising the profile of British flowers and floristry in a celebration of home-grown flowers.

Started by the Flower Market at New Covent Garden Market, where British grown flowers and foliage have been traded for centuries, British Flowers Week brings florists, flower schools, growers and wholesalers together to showcase the best of the flower industry.

British flowers have a dreamy scent, are more sustainable and usually fresher than imported flowers, but only around 12% of the flowers bought in the UK are grown here. Choose British and you’ll be supporting local businesses, keeping farms happy and encouraging wildlife and biodiversity.

We’ll be celebrating the power of British flowers with displays, workshops and events up and down the country. Look out for show-stopping images of sensational designs by five top florists created exclusively for British Flowers Week, local florists’ pictures of their own wonderful arrangements and crowd-pulling window displays.

Join in the conversation at #BritishFlowersWeek and check out www.britishflowersweek.com  for more info on how to get involved.
