Celebrating Nine Elms gateways

To help make Battersea and Nine Elms welcoming to residents, businesses and visitors, the key points – or gateways – in the area are being made more attractive to travel through or pass by. As the area grows and two Northern Line Tube stations open in 2021, these routes are becoming more important.

Gateway improvements include horticultural and planting, lighting installations, sculpture and seating. Artists and designers have been commissioned to improve some gateways with innovative designs.

Following the Thessaly Road bridge redesign in 2019, Arch 42 is the latest gateway commissioned by Wandsworth Council.

As part of LFA 2021, see our new online photo gallery of gateways around Nine Elms!
