The first images of 98 new shared ownership homes in Nine Elms have been released today by Peabody and Wandsworth Council.

The finishing touches are now being applied to Peabody’s Chancery Building development ahead of next month’s official sales launch.

Qualifying local residents will be able to purchase these new homes from late spring on a part buy – part rent basis.

The first show flat is now complete and Peabody chief executive Stephen Howlett invited council leader & co-chair of the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership, Cllr Ravi Govindia, and council housing spokesman Cllr Paul Ellis for a sneak preview and site tour.

The Chancery Building is part of the Embassy Gardens by Ballymore development and faces onto the new Nine Elms linear park.

Mr Howlett said: ““We are excited to launch these new homes in the rapidly transforming area of Nine Elms. Peabody is proud to play a role in this major regeneration, and are pleased to be working with our partners to help deliver high quality new homes, which will provide a significant boost to London’s housing supply.”

Cllr Govindia said: “It’s incredibly exciting to see this development so close to completion. The new homes really are fantastic and will be great places to live.

“Piece by piece Nine Elms is coming to life and providing thousands of the new homes and jobs Londoners need.”

Cllr Ellis said: “Across Nine Elms on the South Bank there are around 20,000 homes in the pipeline. That’s a major contribution to London’s housing supply.”
