“The Transport links are good and the views of the river are great when I’m coming in to work,” says Bernard Fasehun. As a Trainee Site Manager, Bernard is a key member of the team responsible for completion of Block A which forms one of the six buildings at the Riverlight development. He’s the one making sure all the finishing works and snags are being closed out on time and up to standard.
Bernard calls Herne Hill in Lambeth home and pops into the newly built Sainsbury’s in Riverlight or the nearby Waitrose for lunch or a snack. Where does he see Nine Elms in a few years’ time?
“I see this area as being very lively and good for shopping and social visits.” Bernard enjoys having a well-earned after work drink with his mates in the Nine Elms Tavern and also the Battersea Barge by St James Riverlight for all the events they put on.
If you’re interested in jobs, apprenticeship or training opportunities and live locally, the good news is that there’s a service to help you with this.
Wandsworth residents can contact Wandsworth Work Match, the recruitment team whose goal is to put local people in pole position for the new opportunities coming up in Nine Elms, like jobs in hospitality, catering, customer service and security.
