Pastel de nata.
Those delectable Portuguese pieces of pastry heaven with custard filling – it’s one reason to visit this vibrant neighbourhood between Vauxhall and Stockwell.
This barrio is home to 27,000 Portuguese people and with numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants, it has earned the nickname “Little Portugal” over the last 30 years. There are Portuguese shops and Portuguese cafes with Portuguese TV and Portuguese food. It’s where you can enjoy pastel de nata tarts and ‘bacalhau’, the fantastic salt dry cod.
There’s also a blossoming Brazilian community.
